St. Mary University Student Recognitions Written by:  Lillian Casillas

Recently in the past month, Clint Early College Academy was
visited by St. Mary's University from San Antonio, Texas. While the university was here on campus they met students and had awarded many of them (Juniors and/or Seniors) a scholarship so that those students could attend St. Mary's in the near future to continue their education. It was such an honor to have the students have the ability to earn a total sum of 1.3 million dollars towards the education they wish to accomplish for themselves.

If not known, St. Mary's University is a Catholic Marianist University. St. Mary’s was founded by two Marianists from France, in 1852. St. Mary’s has committed itself, since the beginning, to the Marianist ideals of academic excellence, ethical commitment, and service to the community. They foster the formation of people in faith and educate leaders for the common good throughout the community, integrated liberal arts and professional education, and academic excellence.

The following students are those who had the honor of receiving a scholarship from Saint Mary’s University:

These students are the ones who try the hardest and do the best inspite of the obstacles they encounter. They reach for infinity because they know that the sky is the beginning of a great journey, they dream ahead. They dream of what they could do and imagine of what they will do; and to these students, we must look up to because if they can reach past the sky then so can we.
